Wheeling keeps Super Six football tourney

Wheeling will remain the home of the Super Six football championships for at least two more years.
After listening to presentations from representatives of Wheeling and Charleston on Wednesday, members of the West Virginia Secondary School Activity Commission’s board of directors voted 6-2 with one absention to return the state high school football title games to Wheeling in 2006 and 2007.

West Virginia's high school football championships will remain in Wheeling for at least the next two years. The state Secondary School Activities Commission Board of Directors voted 6-2 Wednesday to keep the Super Six in the Northern Panhandle. It marked the seventh consecutive two-year contract to stage the three title games at Wheeling Island Stadium. |
